CVE-2022-24439 is fixed in 2 products on 1 platform, first by python-git 2.1.8-1ubuntu0.1~esm1, released December 5, 2022. It is not reported as exploited. Patch Radar priority: High.
All versions of package gitpython are vulnerable to Remote Code Execution (RCE) due to improper user input validation, which makes it possible to inject a maliciously crafted remote URL into the clone command. Exploiting this vulnerability is possible because the library makes external calls to git without sufficient sanitization of input arguments.
